OK so the activation day arrived. I knew from previous experience that the modem/router would be a doddle to setup and install. Plug it in and voila, everything is taken care of for you thanks to the setup procedure by Sky to ensure even the most novice of users can get up and running with it.
I did mess around with the wireless settings however, I changed the password to something memorable and changed the name from sky12345 (or whatever it was). A few port forwarding changes later and that was my config done.
So, what is it like?
Well performing a www.speedtest.net download and upload speed test Sky told me I should get around 4MB from my line, it averages around 1.5mb with an upload of 400kb.
I have noticed that at times webpages take a while to serve, I will keep an eye on this and maybe contact Sky customer services if things don`t improve over the next week or so. But so far, no major problems, all seems ok. *touching wood*
